Bird Watching in Kumana – Kumana National Park is renowned as one of the top bird sanctuaries where large flocks of migratory waterfowl and wading birds can be seen. Park vegetation comprises of lagoons, small tanks, a seasonal villu grassland, dry mixed evergreen forest, river and riverine forest. Kumana National Park is considered as one of the important feeding and breeding ground in the island. A total of 255 bird species including rare Black-necked Stork have been recorded form Kumana.
